Have you ever finished a full day...
One where you honestly worked hard.
Loved people well.
Accomplished more than you expected.
And still climbed into bed thinking...
"I should have done more."
Maybe you answered the emails, made the calls, and folded the laundry.
You showed up for your family, moved your business forward, and checked off more than you expected.
Maybe you’ve caught yourself thinking...
If I could just get more organized...
Then I’d finally feel caught up.
Or...
If I could just manage my time better...
Then I’d finally have peace.
Or...
If I could just find the right planner—the right routine, the right system, the right rhythm...
Surely then everything would finally fall into place.
I know that feeling. Maybe you do too.
Because here’s what I’ve noticed.
We keep waiting for the day we’ll finally feel...
caught up.
settled.
ahead.
enough.
But every time we think we’ve arrived...
“Enough” quietly moves the finish line.
The Slippery Slope
At first, it feels like a time problem.
"I don't have enough time."
That seems practical enough.
So we look for practical solutions.
A better planner.
A new app.
A fresh morning routine.
A productivity podcast.
A color-coded calendar.
Maybe those things even help for a while.
Many of them helped me. And perhaps they’ve helped you too.
There’s nothing wrong with good planning, healthy rhythms, or practical systems.
In fact, I still use them every day.
You were simply following the advice that promised peace. So was I.
The problem wasn’t the desire to get better at managing our time.
The problem was expecting time management to give us something it was never designed to give.
Because there’s a slippery slope hiding underneath that first thought.
It quietly shifts from…
"I don’t have enough time.”
to…
“I didn’t do enough.”
And if we’re not paying attention...
That thought slips into something even deeper.
“Maybe I’m not enough.”
It’s so subtle we hardly notice it happening.
But we feel it.
In every unfinished task.
Every postponed dream.
Every interrupted workday.
Every comparison to someone who seems to have it all together.
Every promise that next week will finally be different.
Suddenly, it isn’t just about our calendars anymore.
It’s about our hearts.
I Didn’t See It Either
In my welcome article, I shared about the doctor’s appointment that finally got my attention.
Looking back, I realize the turning point wasn’t the diagnosis.
It was what God began revealing afterward.
I’ve loved planners since I was a little girl.
I made lists of my lists.
I color-coded my calendar, time blocked, read the productivity books, got up earlier, stayed up later, and constantly tweaked my routines.
If someone said, “This will help you grow your business,” I wanted to try it.
Not because I loved productivity for its own sake.
Because I thought it would finally give me what I was looking for.
Peace. Presence. Freedom.
Maybe you’ve tried some of those things too.
Maybe they’ve genuinely helped.
Mine did….for a time.
But they never gave me what I was actually searching for.
Because no planner can hand us peace.
No calendar can convince us we’re enough.
No system can quiet a restless heart.
The planner was never the problem.
It was the place I’d been asking to carry a weight it was never meant to carry.
If you’ve ever felt this tension too, I’d love for you to keep walking this journey with me.
What God Began Revealing
Looking back now...
I can finally see the slippery slope.
I thought my time wasn’t enough.
So I tried to manage it better.
When that didn’t quiet the ache, I decided I must not be doing enough.
So I worked harder.
I got up earlier and stayed up later.
I added one more strategy, bought one more planner, and tweaked one more routine.
And when that still wasn’t enough...
Without ever saying the words out loud...
I began living as though I wasn’t enough.
I spent years looking for peace in my planner...
When all along...I was looking in the wrong place.
I was looking at me...
Instead of Him.
That realization didn’t solve everything overnight.
But it changed the question I began asking.
A Different Question
For years, my question had been:
How can I manage my time better?
Now a different question began to emerge.
What if I’m trying to solve the wrong problem?
I didn’t have the answer yet.
Honestly, I’m still learning.
But I knew I couldn’t keep chasing peace in places that had never been able to provide it.
Once I saw that...
I couldn’t unsee it.
Because my calendar wasn’t creating the pressure I felt.
It was revealing it.
Sometimes our calendars reveal what our hearts have been believing all along.
Maybe yours is too.
Now what?
If the problem isn’t actually your calendar...What is it?
What if the issue isn’t the way you’ve been managing your time...
But the story you’ve come to believe about time?
That’s where our journey really begins.
We’re just beginning this conversation.
I’d love for you to join me for this journey that’s gonna shape everything about your time.
What is it time for?
Every week, I’ll leave you with one question—not to add another task to your list, but to help you slow down and notice what God might be inviting you into.
This week’s question:
Where have you been looking for “enough” in places that could never truly give it to you?
I’d love to hear your response in the comments.
Because some of the richest conversations don’t happen in the article...
They happen around it.
Time is sacred. Stewardship is strategic.
Together, let’s redeem our time.

Stewardship is strategic! Amen
